Neighborhood Things: CTA Buses

I had a special request from a reader to post photos of buses and trains.  Here's the first installment!
This is the front of a bus in my neighborhood.  For those who haven't been on a city bus, you enter through the first set of doors and exit through the second set.  Most (maybe all?) of the buses here can be lowered by the driver for people who have trouble stepping up on to the bus.  It even has a bike rack!  Hard to tell in this photo, though.

Here's a better view of the bike rack in use.  I am not much of a cyclist, so I've never used it.

Side view.

This is a bendy bus.  There's probably an actual name for them, but I don't know what it is.  See that black strip of accordion-y stuff toward the middle of the bus?  That's the bendy part.  The bus is extra long, and needs to bend when it goes around corners.  You usually see these types of buses downtown.  Not so much in my neighborhood.

Here's what the inside looks like.  Sorry for the slightly blurry photo.  Bus rides are kind of bouncy.  Plus, I didn't want to look creepy, all takin' photos of people on the bus.

I did, however, have to share this photo.  This gentleman was wearing a very classy ensemble, complete with tie, coordinating pocket square, and cane.  He even had a fountain pen!  The temperature outside?  98 degrees.  I applaud his ability to keep it snazzy, even with such high temps.

    1. I couldn't believe it either. It looked like the heat absolutely did not bother him at all!
