Simple Beach Tote

Or, in my case, pool tote.  I don't live anywhere near the beach.

I found this fabric at a thrift store a few weeks ago, and it just begged to made into something fun and summery.  It wasn't *just* fabric.  It turned out to be a floor length elastic waist skirt with a pretty big black stain on the back.  Luckily I was able to tear it apart and get some useful pieces.  Plus, it was only .25 cents, so I can't complain.

I really like how this bag turned out, it's a great size.  I was able to fit 4 beach towels inside with plenty of room to spare.  I'm thinking of putting together a tutorial for it, although I've never made a tutorial before.  We'll see!  Would anyone be interested?

  3. Katie, the bag isn't lined. The seams are just finished and then trimmed (or, if one has a serger, they could just stitch it up that way).
